Job Description:  The University of South Carolina Upstate Psychology Department is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor (area of emphasis open) to teach courses on the Spartanburg and/or Greenville campuses beginning 8/16/2018. Responsibilities include teaching required courses such as Introductory Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods, and/or Senior Seminar and courses in the applicant’s area of interest. Applicants must show a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and advising and the ability to maintain an active research program that involves undergraduates. Other duties include service in support of the department and the university. Review of applications begins December 1 and continues until position is filled.

Required Qualifications:  A PhD in Psychology is required at time of appointment. ABD candidates with planned completion date by August 15, 2018 may also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:  Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience, evidence of scholarly activity, and desire to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
