University of Pennsylvania — Associate / Full Professor Tenure, Pulmonary Biology and Cystic Fibrosis

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Pulmonary Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for a Full or Associate Professor position in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Candidates with clinical interests must be Board certified/eligible in their subspecialty.

Applicants must have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, research and, if applicable, clinical care. The Division of Pulmonary Medicine and Cystic Fibrosis Center at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) invites applications for an outstanding laboratory investigator. We are seeking an individual who is interested in utilizing the robust research environment in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute (http://www.research.chop.edu). The Division of Pulmonary Medicine and Cystic Fibrosis Center is a vibrant and interactive environment with over 20 faculty members, approximately 6 trainees and more than 70 staff. The Division encompasses two Clinical Centers (Sleep and Cystic Fibrosis), as well as 5 Clinical Programs (Transplant, Technology Dependence, Aerodigestive, Thoracic Insufficiency and Asthma). CHOP ranks No.2 on the U.S. News 2017-18 Honor Roll of the Best Children’s Hospitals.

Current funded basic research in the Division and CF Center include ion transport and intracellular trafficking of CFTR, cystic fibrosis related diabetes, and genome wide array studies related to airway growth.

Applicants should have an interest in understanding the cellular and molecular basis of disease as it relates broadly to pulmonary diseases in children and Cystic Fibrosis, with an outstanding record of research productivity. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary/start-up package and be expected to lead a creative, independent and externally-funded program of research.
