Student Expelled From the University of Hartford After Allegedly Harassing Black Roommate

A White woman student at the University of Hartford in Connecticut was expelled from school and faces criminal charges after she posted on social media that she had done several things to intimidate her Black roommate.

In a post on social media, the White women stated “After one and a half months spitting in her coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons on her backpack, putting her toothbrush places where the sun doesn’t shine, and so much more, I can finally say goodby to Jamaican Barbie.”

Gregory Woodward, president of the University of Hartford, stated that “the harsh reality is that racism in America is part of our reality. It is here on our campus and on campuses across the country. We are a reflection of the society at large. It is disturbing and inexcusable, and needs our constant attention and vigilance. We must all speak up, speak out, and be relentless in our pursuit of a more inclusive environment for our students. Acts of racism, bias, or other abusive behaviors will not be tolerated in any way, shape, or form on this campus.”

Where’s the Beef? What are the Policy and resource assigned to address the current situation beyond Expulsion? If the roles were reversed- Cops would be called and Criminal chanrges brought by the Institution. This exedemic is as real as white women speaking up about sexual abuse, rape etc at the hands of their Bosses. We are always asked to expathize with those who deny us the right to exist.
