The Area Coordinator (AC) is a full time, 12 month professional member of the Residence Life and Housing staff who lives and works in the student residential environment. The AC is responsible for providing a living-learning environment, which offers opportunities for individual and group development congruent with the mission of the College, management and supervision of residential facilities that are clean safe, well maintained and conducive to study, and management and counseling services that ensure the orderly and effective administration of residence halls. The AC supervises two to three residence halls and ensures a focus of customer service, care, and community through their interactions and direct supervision of their staffs. All ACs also participate in the administrative functions and programming efforts of the Residence Life and Housing operations.

The Area Coordinator for senior position is a live-on position supervising Williams and Figge hall, each with a SRD and five RAs. As the supervisor of the senior areas, the AC will coordinate with the other staff members in the office and other office on programs and events where the senior class is the primary focus (e.g. working with OSI on 100 days ball, senior week, etc.). The AC will also coordinate working with seniors who live in Loyola, Carlin, and Alumni with the AC who supervises that area to ensure all residential seniors have access to senior events.

The AC will also coordinate the application process of off-campus housing requests and work with the Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life (ADH&RL) and the direction of the final approval process and intake of off campus leases.

This is a middle level position for a person with a Master’s Degree in Student Personnel Services or Counseling. Leadership experience in residence as a professional, preferably for two years. The person should be self-directed, organized, and enjoy working with students. Must have an understanding of values and expectations of a highly selective private Jesuit liberal arts college. Should be comfortable in creation of multiple teams and creating an atmosphere of customer service and consistence on staffs that are supervised.
