The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia — Assistant Professor, Cell and Gene Therapy Laboratory and Assistant Director

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Stem Cell/Cellular Therapy. The position will be based within the Division of Transfusion Medicine at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Responsibilities include serving as the Assistant Director of the cGMP Cell and Gene Therapy Laboratory (CGTL). The CGTL primarily serves the Cellular Therapy and Transplant section within the division of Oncology at CHOP, supporting CHOP’s transplant and cellular therapy protocols. Working closely with the scientific and medical directors, the Assistant Director will direct daily lab activities, develop new cell therapy protocols, and ensure that the operation complies with all levels of regulatory requirements. Depending on the applicant, clinical work in other areas, such as the Apheresis Unit and Blood Bank, is also available as well as sharing responsibilities for teaching of residents and fellows rotating through the Division. Applicants must have an M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care.
