The Board of Trustees of Cardinal Stritch University invites applications and nominations for the position of President. Cardinal Stritch University, located in Milwaukee, WI, is an independent Catholic Franciscan institution of higher education sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. The University provides values-based learning within the liberal arts tradition. The next president is expected to take office on July 1, 2018.

Total enrollment as of Fall 2017 is approximately 2,500 students with about 1,500 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students. The student population includes a rich array of ethnic diversity. Stritch employs 90 full-time faculty members and 209 full-time and part-time staff.

Stritch offers more than 60 academic programs and confers degrees at the associate, bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels. The University consists of the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education and Leadership, the Ruth S. Coleman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, the College of Business and Management, and the School of Continuing and Online Learning.

The University seeks an experienced, successful and engaged leader. The next President will be able to advance innovation while embracing the rich heritage and values of the institution. The University community will look to the President for empowerment, collaboration, and leadership to take advantage of opportunities to strengthen the institution and position it for long-term success. It is expected that the new President will foster and promote a strong sense of community on campus and within the Milwaukee community.

The candidate must be able to be an active witness by words and action to the charism, values, and mission of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. While the Search Committee is eager to consider many possible pathways to the presidency, a terminal degree is preferred.
