Miami University — Assistant Professor, Engineering and Technology (Middletown Campus)

Miami University, Department of Engineering Technology is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position to be housed on the Middletown campus. This tenure-track position is at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing in August of 2018.

Tenure-track Assistant Professor to:  teach undergraduate courses in engineering technology; advise students; provide meaningful service to the department and university; and develop and maintain high quality scholarship.  Courses may be taught during day and evening hours or via interactive video and web.  Course topics may include:  circuit analysis, analog electronics, industrial electronics, networking, wireless communication, digital signal processing, embedded microcontrollers, programmable logic controllers and industrial automation.

Required:  Ph.D. (by date of appointment) in electrical engineering, computer engineering, electrical/computer engineering technology, or closely related field.  Consideration may be given to candidates with relevant and technologically current industry experience; a Professional Engineering License; or postsecondary teaching experience.

The department offers ABET/ETAC accredited bachelor’s completion degree programs with concentrations in Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology; and associate degree programs in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology.  In addition, the department offers a new bachelor’s completion degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology.
