Lesley University, a private, coeducational university in Cambridge, Massachusetts, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Provost. The University encompasses three separate campuses in a diverse city and community and offers rich curricular and co-curricular opportunities. Each year, 2,500 undergraduate and 5,300 graduate students pursue degrees on campus, off site, online, and through low residency programs. Lesley seeks an experienced, successful academic administrator and engaged scholar who is creative and collaborative – a visionary leader who will engage and support our deans and faculty in the development and advancement of innovative and challenging academic programs.

Reporting directly to President Jeff Weiss and serving as a member of his Cabinet and Senior Leadership Team, the Provost is the leader of academic life at Lesley University and will advise the President regarding strategic ideas and implement initiatives to assure academic and operational success across the University’s four schools: College of Art and Design, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Graduate School of Education, Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences, as well as the Threshold Program. Building on a strong legacy of transformative education grounded in active learning, scholarly research, diverse forms of artistic expression, and the integration of rigorous academics with professional experience leading to meaningful careers and lifelong learning, the next Provost will bring creative and bold ideas to position Lesley for a successful future.

The Provost will join a talented and cohesive senior leadership team and an extraordinarily dedicated and outstanding community of faculty, administrators, staff, student, alumni, and University friends to shape the next chapter in Lesley’s history. The Provost is expected to serve as a role model of diversity, inclusion, and transparency in decision making, and to attract, support, and retain excellent faculty and staff members. The Provost will oversee enrollment management including all departments involved in the recruitment of students to unique undergraduate, graduate, adult learners, transfers, Urban Scholars, or Threshold experiences. The Provost will play a lead role in supporting student success and retention and will provide leadership for diverse, innovative and high quality academic programs offered in multiple modalities, formats, and locations.

The new provost is expected to assume office no later than July 1, 2018.
