California State University Northridge — Assistant Professor, Accounting & Information Systems (Accounting)

Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited institution in accounting or a related business discipline. While ABDs will be considered for the position, evidence of doctoral degree is required at the time of hire, August 21, 2018. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred. Teaching experience and relevant work experience in accounting are preferred. Evidence of scholarly research potential in accounting (or related business field) is required. Candidates must demonstrate commitment and ability to work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Candidates must meet and maintain CSUN’s requirements for classification as Scholarly Academic (SA) under the 2013 AACSB International standards of qualification. Preference will be given to those candidates with an expertise and/or experiences in audit, but all areas, including financial/managerial accounting, are encouraged to apply.

At time of appointment, the successful candidate, if not a U.S. citizen, must have authorization from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services to work in the United States.

Responsibilities: Teach courses in the undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in accounting and related business areas. Employ a variety of effective pedagogies in class including web-enhanced and hybrid instruction. Consult and work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Engage in an ongoing program of scholarship that demonstrates intellectual and professional growth. Assume an active role in the planning and governance of the institution. Promote service to the community and participate in professional associations.
