Wake Forest University — Assistant Professor: Multicultural Education: Critical Pedagogy and Social Foundations

The Department of Education at Wake Forest University is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in Multicultural Education: Critical Pedagogy and Social Foundations to begin August 2018 at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent) at the time of appointment. We are a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree granting department with a strong relationship with and commitment to public schools. The applicant should have experience teaching or working in diverse settings addressing education and policy issues related to diversity, and have a strong commitment to research. This position includes a 3:2 teaching load, and teaching responsibilities could include the following courses: Teaching Diverse Learners (undergraduate and graduate), Educational Policy and Practice (undergraduate and graduate), Social Justice Issues in Education (undergraduate and graduate), Issues and Trends in Education (undergraduate), as well as opportunities to develop and teach an undergraduate First Year Seminar. Other responsibilities may include supervising undergraduate and graduate candidates in education and community field placements. Preference will be given to candidates with K-12 public school teaching experience.
