University of New Mexico — Assistant Professor, Bioinformatics / Genomics

The University of New Mexico Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology invites nominations and applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor for Fall 2018. This is a probationary appointment leading to a tenure decision. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences or related field, and at least one year of post-doctoral research experience.

Preferred qualifications include: 1) Evidence of outstanding potential to build a nationally recognized and externally funded computational and/or experimental research program in the areas of Bioinformatics and/or Genomics as demonstrated by publications and grants; 2) Evidence of potential synergistic interactions with existing research programs at UNM and UNMHSC; and 3) Proven ability to teach Bioinformatics and Biological Chemistry and 4) A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
