University of Nevada, Reno — Assistant Professor, Global Anglophone Literature

The University of Nevada, Reno Department of English announces an entry-level tenure-track position in Global Anglophone Literature, to begin in the fall semester of 2018. The successful candidate must be able to teach Postcolonial and Globalization theories, world literature broadly conceived, and a specific field of specialization (e.g. African, Caribbean or South Asian global literatures) to advanced undergraduates and graduate students, as well as intermediate courses in English and in the Core Curriculum, especially Core Humanities 202, the Modern World. UNR English faculty who teach and mentor in the graduate program and engage in scholarly research typically have a 2/2 load.

Members of the English Department also have the opportunity to affiliate themselves with the interdisciplinary Gender, Race and Identity program.

Required Qualifications:
A demonstrated record of published research is expected, as are experience and promise as an excellent teacher. Ph.D. must be completed by July 1, 2018.

Successful candidates must be able to teach Postcolonial and Globalization theories, world literature broadly conceived, and a specific field of specialization (e.g. African, Caribbean or South Asian global literatures). The successful candidate will demonstrate his or her ability to support the university’s key value of inclusiveness.
