Purchase College, SUNY seeks candidates for the position of Dean of the School of the Arts, with a term to begin in August of 2018. The appointment will be a Management/Confidential (non-bargaining unit) position with the State of New York, a salary commensurate with experience of the chosen candidate and a full benefits package.

The positon is one of two academic Deans for the campus (the other being the Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences), and oversees four academic divisions (Art + Design, Dance, Music, & Theatre Arts) as well as the programs in Arts Management and in Entrepreneurship in the Arts. Approximately half of the undergraduate and a majority of the graduate degree seeking students are within the School of the Arts. The two academic Deans work together with the faculty & staff from all areas across the campus to deliver the academic mission of the college.

Founded on the principle that artists and scholars are indispensable to each other and to an enlightened society, Purchase College combines professional programs in the visual and performing arts with focused inquiry in the liberal arts and sciences.
