The Division of Music invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We have curricular needs in Western art music of ca. 1600-1800 and non-western traditions, the latter being a growth area. Thus the ideal candidate will be a dynamic scholar-teacher with trans-disciplinary research and teaching expertise in one or both of these. Teaching responsibilities include introductory courses for both majors and non-majors on music in history and culture, survey of the Western canon, research methods as well as graduate and undergraduate seminars and special topics, including in the candidate’s area of expertise. Other duties include the supervision of master theses, undergraduate and graduate advising, and service to the University. Starting date: August 2018

Qualifications
Completed Ph.D. by 1 August 2018; proven success in teaching undergraduate and graduate music courses; and evidence of scholarly productivity or potential.
