Ball State University — Chief Strategy Officer

Ball State University is seeking a dynamic leader for the position of Chief Strategy Officer to lead the development, implementation and communication of the University’s strategic plan. This newly established, cabinet-level position will work collaboratively with other members of the senior leadership team and the university community to develop a long-term strategic plan, define measurable outcomes, and establish appropriate metrics. This individual will lead the creation and implementation of the strategic plan for the University at large, as well as divisions and colleges individually, in a manner that collectively serves the mission and goals of the University. In addition, the Chief Strategy Officer will foster an environment of creative and transparent decision-making that engenders sustained evolution of the University as it addresses ongoing challenges and opportunities. Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. At least ten years of progressively responsible experience to include strategy consulting and/or other executive level strategic and analytical experience; Developing and implementing significant strategic initiatives for large, complex organizations; Developing and analyzing key metrics; Strong written and oral communication skills and experience in communicating strategic initiatives to senior executives. At least five years of supervisory and management experience gained concurrently or at any time.

Preferred qualifications: Terminal degree. Experience working in higher education.
