University of Pennsylvania — Assistant Professor (AC Track), Cellular Therapy and Transplant

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the academic-clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Applicants must be Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology or a related discipline.

The position is in the Cellular Therapy and Transplant Section, and the position will involve the care of both BMT and cell therapy patients on one of the most active pediatric cell therapy programs in the world. There are opportunities for participation in clinical research and protocol development in BMT and/or cell and gene therapy for the right candidate. We are seeking candidates who ideally have a minimum of 2-3 years of faculty experience in pediatric bone marrow/stem cell transplantation. We seek someone with an excellent record of clinical accomplishment and the skills necessary to contribute to our program. You will be joining a group providing outstanding clinical care to BMT patients and performing cutting edge clinical and translational research focused on alternative donor transplants and other cell therapies.  You will also be involved in the care of cell therapy patients enrolled in clinical trials that take advantage of the resources in the CHOP/U Penn environment and will have access to outstanding state-of-the art facilities, world-class cell manufacturing and clinical/translational research support. Some prior CAR T cell or clinical trial experience is a plus. Clinical duties will include providing outpatient care in the BMT clinic, consultative services, and inpatient care on the BMT/Cell Therapy service, along with participation in the clinical education of residents and especially fellows.
