Debbie Thomas Named Provost at Kentucky State University

Christopher Brown, the new president of Kentucky State University in Frankfort, has announced that Debbie G. Thomas has been appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs at the university.

Dr. Thomas has been serving as dean of academic affairs at Capital Community College in Hartford, Connecticut. The college enrolls about 3,500 students. African Americans are 36 percent of the student body.

Dr. Thomas holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from what is now the University of Louisiana, Monroe. She earned a Ph.D. at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
