Academic Transplant Nephrologist

The Division of Renal-Electrolyte and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, research, and clinical care. Board Certification in Nephrology is required.

This individual will assume a role as clinician, teacher and clinical or translational scientist with a research program focused in an area related to renal transplantation. We are particularly interested in candidates who seek to develop or extend a largely extramurally-funded research program within Penn’s outstanding, collaborative research environment.

The successful applicant will care for kidney transplant patients on both inpatient and outpatient services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Preferred candidates will have completed dedicated sub-specialty training in transplant nephrology or will have at least one year experience working as a transplant nephrologist in a busy kidney transplant program. Ideally, this person should have had advanced training in clinical science and a research focus clearly defined by a robust publication and funding record.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense.

The University of Pennsylvania is an EOE. Minorities/Women/Individuals with disabilities/Protected Veterans are encouraged to apply.
