The Next Dean of Students at Westminster College in Pennsylvania

Carllos Lassiter will be the next dean of students at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. He will also serve as vice president for student affairs.

The college, located in the northwestern corner of Pennsylvania near the Ohio border, enrolls about 1,110 undergraduate students and 200 graduate students. African Americans make up 3 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Lassiter has been serving as vice president for student affairs and dean of students at Rust College, a historically Black educational institution in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Earlier, he held student affairs posts at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tulane University in New Orleans, and the University of Chicago.

Lassiter is a graduate of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he majored in Africana studies. He holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Mississippi, where he is completing work on an educational doctorate.
