Archie Tucker II is the new vice president for marketing, communications, and advancement at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville. He has served in the role on an interim basis since 2014. Tucker is the former chief development officer at Mississippi Valley State University.
Tucker is a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University, where he majored in business administration. He holds an MBA from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Michele Harper was promoted to assistant athletic director for academic and student athlete development at Alcorn State University in Mississippi. She was the coordinator of student athlete services at the university.
Harper holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in sport management from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Tamala Tamu Sukari Choma was named senior counsel for the University of California, Riverside. She was associate counsel for the Genesis Health System in Iowa.
Choma is a graduate of San Diego State University. She earned a master’s degree in communicative disorders at San Francisco State University and a law degree at the University of San Diego.
Carleton Spellman was appointed vice chancellor for business and finance and chief financial officer at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. He was the assistant vice chancellor for administration at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. From 2007 to 2013, Spellman was assistant vice chancellor for budget and financial planning at Fayetteville State University.
A 23-year veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps. Spellman holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from St. Leo University in St. Leo, Florida.
