University of Pennsylvania — Assistant Professor, Pediatric Infectious Disease

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor Positions in the non-tenure clinician-educator track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Pediatrics with a focus on Infectious Diseases. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, research, and clinical care. Board Certified/Board eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases is required.

Resources for clinical investigation include a NIH-funded Clinical Research Center, a vaccine evaluation program and close ties with investigators in Immunology/Allergy. Current clinical activities in the Division include 2 inpatient consultation services, one focused on children with general infectious diseases and another dedicated to the care of immunocompromised hosts. Additionally, we have an outpatient clinic. The division also provides leadership in health care epidemiology through robust programs in infection prevention and control as well as antimicrobial stewardship program. We are seeking applicants interested in clinical care, teaching and possible collaboration with clinical researchers in pediatric infectious diseases.

Additional activities of the Division include diverse basic science and clinical research programs and the CHOP Vaccine Education Center. The division has close ties to the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness Research and the CHOP policy lab offering additional opportunities for collaboration with other clinical researchers.
