Tulane University in New Orleans Debuts Its Center for Academic Equity

Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, has announced the establishment of its Center for Academic Equity. The center will provide a wealth of information to students from these groups on summer research grants, internships, workshops, and conferences.

Rebecca Mark, a professor of English at Tulane, has been named director of the Center for Academic Equity. She states that “the center will serve as an academic location for underrepresented and underserved students.” Marks added that “during my entire time at Tulane, I’ve been working on issues concerning diversity. We want to be a more inclusive campus. We hope to support, celebrate and create a community for these students.”
