In Memoriam: Pamela Denise Anthony, 1971-2017

Pamela D. Anthony, vice president for student affairs at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, died on January 17. She was 45 years old and had suffered from cancer.

Dr. Anthony became vice president for student affairs in February 2016. From 2012 to 2016, she was dean of students at Iowa State University. Earlier in her career, Dr. Anthony was director of student activities at Spelman College in Atlanta and assistant dean of students at Georgia State University.

Dr. Anthony was a graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she majored in speech pathology. She held a master’s degree in education from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. in educational policy studies from Georgia State University.
