Position Description: As the Vice President for University Engagement, articulates and fosters a strategic, university-wide vision of community engagement that advances Cleveland State University’s goals of being a vibrant metropolitan university that provides a rich environment for engaged learning and scholarship, of being a national leader in community outreach, and of contributing to the social and economic development of Greater Cleveland. Represents CSU in its strategic partnerships and works with academic officers, along with other senior staff members, to promote engagement and community impact throughout the university’s academic enterprises. As Chief Diversity Officer, serves as lead advisor to the President and senior executive staff on institutional matters of diversity that enrich CSU’s multicultural environment and commitment to inclusion across the institution, in accordance with the University’s Diversity Action Plan. Convenes and provides oversight the President’s Council on Diversity and College or Division-level Diversity Councils. Manages diversity activities that contribute to student success and multicultural understanding. As a member of the senior executive staff, participates with the President and other senior officers in institutional planning and policy development. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications: Advanced degree in Education, Urban Affairs, Business Administration, Economic Development, or related field. Senior level administrative experience and strategic planning skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Public/Urban Affairs teaching experience at the university level.
