Assistant Professor of Sociology
Position Summary: The Department of History, Sociology, Geography and Legal Studies at The University of Tampa invites applications for a full time, tenure track position in Sociology at the Assistant Professor level to begin August, 2017. We seek someone with training and experience in applied sociology who will support the accredited concentration in Applied Sociology and who shares a commitment to innovative teaching, high quality scholarship and civic engagement. All areas of specialization will be considered, with preference given to skills in medical sociology and demography.
Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester, scholarship, student advising, and department and university service. Faculty members have the opportunity to teach in the summer for additional compensation.
Position Qualifications: While candidates who are ABD can apply, the successful candidate must have their Ph.D. completed prior to their appointment in August 2017.
