University of Northern Iowa — Director of Academic Advising

Plans, organizes, and directs the office of Academic Advising that serves undergraduate students with an emphasis on students in transition; provides leadership to promote and support academic advising at the University and assists in effecting new and revised institutional policy and procedures related to advising; administers and implements operations of University-wide academic advisement and educational planning for new student registration and advising programs; directs programming for and advises new students, and students in transition; directs, trains, and evaluates Academic Advising advisors; and supports and coordinates with offices serving the Follon Student Services Center. Master’s degree in higher education, college student personnel, counseling or related field plus at least five years of experience in higher education with at least two years of administrative experience required. Knowledge of student development theory and application required with teaching experience in a higher education setting preferred.
