Xavier University of Louisiana Rated the Best in the South for Career Preparation

For many students pursuing a college education, career preparation and quality placement services are important factors in deciding where they want to enroll. Xavier University, the historically Black educational institution in New Orleans, has received very high marks in this area from a recent national survey.

The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings asked students how they felt their college or university was preparing them for their chosen career. Students were asked to rate their educational institution on a scale of 0 to 10. Xavier University achieved a score of 9.7.

Not only was Xavier’s rating tops among all historically Black colleges and universities, it had the highest rating of any college or university in the South.

North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Florida A&M University in Tallahassee – both historically Black institutions – both ranked in the top 10 among educational institutions in the South for preparing their students for careers.
