The New President of Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio

president-brown-3The Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio, has announced the appointment of Michael Joseph Brown as its next president. The seminary was founded in 1894 by leaders of the African Methodist Episcopal Church “for the purpose of promoting education, religion, and morality by the education of persons for the Christian ministry and missionaries for the redemption of Africa and other foreign lands.” Today, the seminary enrolls 189 students in master of divinity and doctor of divinity programs.

Since 2015, Dr. Brown has been serving as academic dean and interim president at the seminary. Previously, he was an associate professor of New Testament and Christian origins at Emory University in Atlanta. Earlier, he was an associate dean at Wabash College in Crawfordsville. Indiana. Dr. Brown is the author of four books including Blackening of the Bible: The Aims of African American Biblical Scholarship (Bloomsbury, 2004).

Dr. Brown is a graduate of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He holds a master of divinity degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.

  1. Go to: http://www.newagecorporations.com and http://www.acdnac.org and read Chapter 3 in Agenda 21. All the research being done on trends in the 21st century and beyond reveal Black people are going to be impacted in ways many cannot even imagine. To avoid this paadigm shift that our children will have to face, Black people must begin the process that will lead to genuine economic empowerment. Oh..and by the way..there will not be any Reparations for Slavery anytime soon.
