South Carolina State University Partners With Denmark Technical College

Historically Black South Carolina State University has entered into a partnership with Denmark Technical College in Denmark, South Carolina. Denmark Technical College enrolls about 1,000 students in two-year degree programs. African Americans make up 92 percent of the student body.

The agreement creates the Bulldog Gateway Program that will facilitate the transfer of students who have earned two-year degrees at Denmark Technical College to four-year bachelor’s degree programs at South Carolina State University. Denmark Technical College students who meet eligibility requirements will be able to transfer their credits to bachelor’s degree programs in accounting, agribusiness, economics, management, marketing, criminal justice, and social work.

James E. Clark, president of South Carolina State University, stated that “this partnership is important to us; it is one more example of institutions working together to increase access to higher education opportunities that provide flexibility and are affordable.”
