Savannah State University Offers New Certificate Program in Global Citizenship

savannah-stateSavannah State University, the historically Black educational institution in Georgia, has announced that it will now offer a global citizenship certificate program in collaboration with the Peace Corps. The program will allow students to gain the knowledge necessary to participate in and to become prequalified for service in the Peace Corps.

The certificate program will include language skills training and instruction in cultural competence. Participants will be required to study abroad and to spend one year as a leader of a student organization.

Students who complete the certificate program are not required to join the Peace Corps but the program will count as training for participation.

In Memoriam: Norman B. Anderson, 1955-2024

He had an extensive career in clinical psychology, which led him to become the first African American chief executive officer of the American Psychological Association.
