Four African Americans in New Administrative Posts in Higher Education

anthony-berryhillAnthony Berryhill is the new chief of police for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He is the former deputy director of the Memphis Police Department.

Berryhill has 31 years of experience as a police officer and served in the U.S. military for seven years.

rankin_sonia_thmbSonia Rankin is the new acting director of university advising at the University of New Mexico. She has been serving as associate dean of University College. Also, she has lectured in the university’s Africana studies program.

Rankin is a graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore, where she majored in computer science. She earned a law degree at the University of Illinois.

johnsonLarry D. Johnson was appointed provost at the Forest Park campus of St. Louis Community College. He was associate dean of academic affairs at the Broward College-South Campus in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Dr. Johnson is a graduate of Florida A&M University, where he majored in English literature. He holds a master’s degree from Florida State University and a doctorate in humanities from Clark Atlanta University.

milonRonald Anthony Milon was named the inaugural chief diversity officer at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Dr. Milon joined the staff at the institute in 2014 and had been serving as associate vice president for academic affairs.

Dr. Milon is a graduate of the College at Brockport of the State University of New York System. He holds master’s degrees from the New School in New York and the University at Buffalo. Dr. Milon earned his Ph.D. in adult education from Capella University.
