The University of Findlay invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position to teach primarily in the doctoral program to begin in August 2017 in the College of Education. The College of Education is seeking a candidate with experience working with qualitative research methods at the graduate level. The applicant should be willing to chair and serve on doctoral committees.
Successful candidates will have a doctorate in education or a related field, previous public school teaching and/or administrative experience; ABD applicants will be considered but the terminal degree must be obtained prior to the appointment start date; previous university teaching, including online teaching experience; research experience; NCATE/CAEP experience; and experience chairing dissertation committees. Prior college teaching experience is preferred. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications. Candidates must be committed to student-centered education as well as professional development and academic scholarship.
The College of Education at The University of Findlay prepares caring, competent, reflective and highly qualified professionals. The college offers undergraduate and post-baccalaureate licensure in Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, Intervention Specialist, AYA and Multi-Age areas as well as several endorsements. The licensure programs have a strong field experience component and the college is accredited through CAEP. The College has a Master of Arts in Education with emphasis areas in curriculum and teaching, technology, educational administration, reading, children’s literature, human resource development, and science education. The University of Findlay offers principal and superintendent licensure. A Doctor of Education degree is offered with a focus on preparing tomorrow’s leaders to plan strategically, communicate effectively in the modern work, think critically about the impact of the policy and decisions and contribute to the knowledge base by conducting research in the candidate’s area of expertise.
