Morgan State University Enters Into a Partnership With ESPN’s The Undefeated

MorganMorgan State University, the historically Black educational institution in Baltimore, has entered into a partnership with The Undefeated, a new division of the ESPN networks that explores the intersections of race, sports and culture. The Undefeated will cooperate with the Center for the Study of Race, Sports and Culture at Morgan State to hold lectures, symposia, and conduct research.

The new partnership will explore two major themes over the course of the next year; the image of Black female athletes and the pathway to coaching jobs for African Americans in the National Football League.

dewayne_wickhamDeWayne Wickham, dean of the School of Global Journalism and Communication at Morgan State said that “this partnership is a major commitment not just to journalism, but to the discovery of information that is important to people of African descent. And that is similar to our school’s mission.”

Wickham is a former columnist for USA Today. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park and holds a master of public administration degree from the University of Baltimore.
