Illinois State University — Diversity Advocacy Specialist and Student Activities & Involvement Specialist (2 positions)

Position Summary:
The Dean of Students is accepting applications for two Specialist positions.

The Diversity Advocacy (DA) Specialist serves as a generalist in the Diversity Advocacy unit of the Dean of Students Office. The DA Specialist is responsible for planning and delivering programs and services, primarily to student populations, related to diversity and inclusion. The DA Specialist also engages in outreach efforts to campus and community entities, assesses programs and services, and presents to campus populations on issues of diversity and inclusion. The DA Specialist will advise one or more Registered Student Organizations and/or ad hoc groups affiliated with the unit.

The Student Activities and Involvement (SAI) Specialist administers support services and organizational development trainings/programs for Registered Student Organizations and coordinates the mid-year involvement fair and annual Student Involvement Recognition Ceremony. The SAI Specialist assesses policies and procedures related to registered student organizations and assists with the planning and implementation of campus wide events such as Welcome Week, Festival ISU, and Homecoming.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. Three (3) years of related professional experience OR a master’s degree
  3. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
