The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor Position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. In this role, the successful candidate will be expected to participate as a physician leader in the hospital-wide Infection Prevention program, as well as an attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases.
The Division provides leadership in health care epidemiology through robust programs in Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship program. The successful candidate will be expected to serve as the Assistant Medical Director for Infection Prevention. The Infection Prevention program focuses on the prevention of healthcare-associated infections and related harm throughout the entire CHOP Network, including the Main Campus, ambulatory care and specialty care clinics, ambulatory surgical facilities, and affiliated programs. Additional responsibilities may include participation in the Antimicrobial Stewardship program.
Current clinical activities in the Division include 2 inpatient consultation services, one service focused on children with general infectious diseases and another dedicated to the care of immunocompromised hosts. Additionally, we have an outpatient clinic. Additional activities of the Division include diverse basic science and clinical research programs, CHOP Vaccine Education Center, and CHOP Global Health Center. The division has close ties to the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness Research and the CHOP Policy Lab offering additional opportunities for collaboration with other clinical researchers.
The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Pediatrics with a focus on Infectious Diseases. Applications must have an M.D. and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Research is not required in the academic clinician track. Board Certified / Board eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases. We are seeking applicants interested in clinical care and educational / teaching activities of the Division.
