Executive Director for Event and Classroom Management
The University of Rochester, in Rochester, NY seeks an experienced and innovative leader for the position of the Executive Director for Event and Classroom Management (Executive Director). Reporting directly to the Dean of the College, the Executive Director will provide visionary and strategic leadership of Event and Classroom Management and help to establish the priorities and long-term strategies for this newly formed department. Working collaboratively across campus, the Executive Director will oversee an effective and responsive event and classroom management operation and provide superior customer service to the campus community. The new Executive Director will lead a team of 19 professionals and work with them to establish, implement, and communicate new processes, systems, and procedures that will be cost effective and efficient for AS&E. The new Executive Director will also serve as a key advisor to the Dean of the College.
Ideal candidates for the Executive Director will be collaborative leaders who possess superb communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. S/he will have knowledge of classroom management and related budgets with eight years of relevant experience; a proven record of visionary leadership and budget management experience; the ability to lead with both a decisive and consultative style, and proactively build positive relationships with faculty, staff, and students. The new Executive Director will have a track record of successfully hiring, developing, managing, and mentoring a large staff including the ECM student workers; be able to relate to people at all levels of an organization; be a team player who operates with transparency, fosters collaboration within the organization, and have a strong commitment to excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will also have a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion; and have the ability to be a change agent and an innovative and forward thinking leader. A Master’s degree is required and experience in Higher Education preferred.
