The Departments of Economics & Finance invites nominations and applications for the position of Department Head beginning August 1, 2017. The appointment is for the academic year of nine months plus the summer session of eight weeks. Position requires exercising leadership at the college, university, state, national and international levels; advocating for departmental and College interests; recruiting, retention, and development of faculty; implementing strategies to attain departmental and college aspirational goals, serving as head of the economics department and also serving as head of the finance department; developing long-term strategic partnerships; implementing fundraising and scholarship initiatives; overseeing department operations; and supporting the development of new curriculum including a college-wide data analytics program.

PhD in Economics required. Qualified applicants must have distinguished record of teaching and scholarship that qualifies the candidate for tenured appointment at rank of full professor in Department of Economics;  distinguished record of service reflecting successful, positive, and collaborative leadership; strong interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skills; an understanding of AACSB accreditation standards; and ability to develop college-wide data analytics program. Administrative experience preferred.

The Department of Economics ( consists of 10 faculty members and approximately 130 undergraduate students majoring in the department. The department has a long history of teaching excellence evidenced by the active engagement of our students and many faculty teaching awards. Faculty are committed to high quality scholarship, are well recognized in their fields and support the College’s commitment to the scholar/teacher model. Over 30% of our graduates go on to post BA education and the department has over 40 alumni who have at one time served as a college professor. The department also supports the MBA program, on campus and internationally.

The Department of Finance ( consists of eight faculty members and approximately 500 undergraduate majors. The department has achieved distinction through its students’ success on the CFA® level 1 examination, and a Real Estate Education Program that offers the only real estate degree in the state.
