The Commonwealth Medical College — Tenure-Track Faculty in the Department of Basic Sciences with specialization in Pharmacology

The Department of Basic Sciences at The Commonwealth Medical College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. Successful candidates will demonstrate scholarly activity and a record of medical and graduate education in Pharmacology. Although all areas of pharmacology will be considered, preference will be given to candidates with expertise in cardiopulmonary or behavioral pharmacology.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to work with an interdisciplinary team of educators from other basic science disciplines, as well as clinical faculty, to enhance and implement an innovative and integrated biomedical education curriculum. Faculty members are expected to participate broadly across the curricula in both the medical and graduate programs, and engage in scholarly research in areas of biomedical science, medical education, or community-oriented research. Additional duties include course administration and contributions to institutional/departmental governance and service.

Academic Rank/Salary: The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment in the Department of Basic Sciences. Rank is dependent upon applicant’s qualifications but may be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Qualifications: All applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to those with experience in teaching medical pharmacology, medical education and course administration. Evidence of biomedical or education research productivity is desired.
