Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Africana Studies
Joint Hire between the Departments of Africana Studies and Political Science

The Departments of Africana Studies and Political Science at Stony Brook University seek to make a tenure-track hire in Comparative Politics. Specialization in foreign policy, international relations, politics, human rights, field experiments or social justice is preferred. Preference will also be given to candidates who place their scholarship and teaching within a transnational context (Africana and the African diaspora with emphasis on the Caribbean and the US) and whose publications and academic profile are innovative and outstanding. The candidate’s scholarship should be grounded in quantitative research. Applicants should demonstrate a proven commitment and capacity for high quality research and teaching, evidenced by publications as well as teaching evaluations, relative to experience. Teaching will include lower division courses, upper division courses in candidate’s area of specialization, and graduate courses. 2/2 load with on-going scholarship and publication.
