Sports Journalism Program at Northwestern Hires a Celebrity Leader

adande170J.A. Adande, a sports journalist who is a regular on the ESPN networks, is the new director of the sports journalism program at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Adande is a regular panelist on ESPN’s Around the Horn sports talk show. He has also served as sideline analyst for ESPN’s coverage of National Basketball Association games and as a columnist for ESPN.com. Earlier, he was a journalist for the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, and the Chicago Sun-Times. From 2004 to 2015, Adande was an adjunct professor in the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Adande is a graduate of Northwestern University, where he majored in journalism. While at Northwestern, he was sports editor of The Daily Northwestern, the student newspaper.
