Duties: We seek a creative scholar whose teaching and research are informed by approaches and methodologies that resonate with the global and interdisciplinary nature of the Meadows School of the Arts. The successful candidate will serve as chair of the music therapy department, assuming all administrative duties of the position; teach undergraduate core music therapy courses; provide clinical supervision to undergraduate students in their clinical placements; pursue an agenda of research, scholarship and creative work consistent with the candidate’s expertise and interests in music therapy; advise undergraduate majors; work with the full-time and adjunct music therapy faculty colleagues in developing and implementing curricula which meet the requirements of the American Music Therapy Association, National Association of Schools of Music, and the university; represent the music therapy department in division, school, and university committees as needed; collaborate with faculty and staff colleagues in recruiting students; and engage in professional and university service.

Qualifications: Doctoral degree in music therapy or related field; demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level, including experience supervising students in practicum or internships; current Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC); current professional member – American Music Therapy Association; demonstrated excellence as an MT-BC with a minimum of five years professional experience; accomplished scholar with an established publication and presentation record; a record of professional/service activities in music therapy.
