The Ohio State University at Marion — Assistant Professor Evolution, Ecology, Organismal Biology

The Ohio State University at Marion invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor position in the department of EEOB to begin in Autumn 2017. At time of appointment, candidates must have a Ph.D. in vertebrate evolution, ecology, organismal biology, or a related discipline. A strong commitment to teaching and research is required; postdoctoral teaching experience is preferred.

Teaching and service for this position will occur primarily at The Ohio State University at Marion, which is one of the six campuses of The Ohio State University and is located 45 miles north of the central campus in Columbus. Tenure track faculty on the Marion campus hold appointments in their academic departments and have access to relevant labs, libraries, and resources on the Columbus campus.

We seek candidates with diverse teaching expertise who, besides teaching courses in their own research area, are qualified to teach courses in other curricular areas required for a BS or BA degree in Biology, Pre-Health Professions specialization area. Responsibilities will include introductory and upper level courses, laboratory supervision, research and publication, and service to the campus, university, and discipline. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in comparative vertebrate anatomy, human anatomy and physiology, and other related areas. In addition to serving as an advisor and research mentor to biology undergraduates at the Marion campus, candidates also have the option of advising graduate students at the Columbus campus.
