New York University School of Medicine — Assistant and Associate Professor, Institute for Computational Medicine

The NYU School of Medicine is hiring tenure-track faculty at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels to seed its new Institute for Computational Medicine. Headed by Itai Yanai, the Institute will be a hub for computational approaches to medically-related basic science challenges, tackling systems that are vast, complex, and dynamic. Of particular focus are the fields of cancer biology, host-pathogen interactions, adaptive immune systems, and population health. Translationally important opportunities in these disciplines require integrating large and diverse datasets and modeling complex biological systems. The Institute occupies new ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ space designed to foster highly collaborative and innovative research. We seek colleagues with biologically focused research programs on topics such as:

  • Big data analytics
  • Systems biology
  • Clinical informatics
  • Evolutionary systems
  • Microbiome
  • Cancer biology
  • Large-scale data integration

The successful candidate will hold a primary appointment in one of the many relevant NYU School of Medicine Departments, and will have opportunities to participate in one or more graduate programs. PIs are expected to lead their own research programs as well as foster collaborations throughout NYU Langone Medical Center.
