Fresno Pacific University — President

The Board of Trustees of Fresno Pacific University invites applications for President of the university from experienced visionary Christian leaders with a mature and vibrant faith and a deep personal commitment to the unique role of Christian higher education, including graduate programs and embedded biblical seminary. Founded in 1944 as a Bible institute by the Mennonite Brethren Church, the university has grown significantly and now has a breadth of academic programs and a student body of about 3,500 highly diverse in ethnicity and age. As the only Christian university in the Central San Joaquin Valley, and with an excellent reputation for service to the community, the university is well positioned for further growth and development. The university’s underlying faith tradition, its close-knit community atmosphere, its diverse student body and its wide-ranging academic program offerings make it an attractive community asset providing a positive impact on contemporary culture. The university seeks an innovative, creative, inspirational leader who will affirm the institution’s history while bringing bold leadership for further development. The new President will have the opportunity to guide the university to further expand on its present reputation of being the premier institution of its type in the region.

As the chief executive officer, the President will contribute to a diverse culture which fosters personal Christian faith; will lead the academic, administrative and staff personnel to pursue the strategic plan; will promote excellence in teaching and scholarship; and will further develop the institution’s reputation as an outstanding Christian university effectively preparing students for careers and lives of service. The President will shape and communicate the university vision both orally and in writing in a compelling manner, will create annual goals to pursue the strategic plan, will be actively engaged in fundraising to significantly expand the donor base and giving to the university and will prudently manage the human, physical and fiscal resources of the university to effectively pursue the strategic plan.

A complete description of this exceptional opportunity along with detailed information about the qualifications as well as the application, nomination, or inquiry process is available online in the Presidential Profile at Review of applications will begin in early October and will continue on a rolling basis. For full consideration, applications should be received no later than October 27. The University has retained AGB Search to assist with this search.
