Educational Records Bureau — President and CEO

The Board of Trustees for the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) seeks an outstanding leader to serve as its next President and CEO. This not-for-profit member organization has been providing admission and achievement assessment, as well as instructional services for PreK – Grade 12, for more than 2,000 schools and districts around the country and the world. For over 85 years, ERB has been dedicated to supporting student learning with a mission to collaborate with educators to build learning communities, guide instruction, and put assessment insights into action.

As chief executive officer, the President provides leadership and direction for the organization and its staff. Reporting to and working in partnership with the Board of Trustees, ERB’s President leads a staff of 40 in developing and advancing the organization’s strategic goals in fulfillment of its mission; refining or updating the organization’s suite of assessments and developing new programs; enhancing the effectiveness, coherence, reach, relevance, and visibility of ERB; and managing and enhancing the organization’s fiscal health and $20-million budget.

The President will be expected to work with and continue to engage internal and external stakeholders to assess and enhance ERB’s mission, vision, and program while anticipating and playing a shaping role in the rapidly-changing educational testing and assessment landscape for PreK – Grade 12 education. The new President will be asked to partner with the Board to build and execute a strategic plan that is aligned with and extends the ERB mission and positions the organization as a voice of influence and key resource in the national conversation on assessment and student learning. As an influential and visible leader, the President will be a visionary and masterful communicator who inspires engagement and trust. She or he will leverage the strengths of the organization to address challenges and deliver on the education field’s shared accountability to ensure high-quality educational assessment for students nationally and globally. The President will bring industry knowledge and innovative thinking, managerial prowess, substantial skill at ensuring execution, and an ability to build collaborations among diverse groups and multiple constituencies who possess and display different viewpoints and perspectives.
