Berry College invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost. Founded in 1902, Berry is an independent, coeducational college of approximately 2,100 students. Nationally recognized for quality of learning and quality of life, the College offers first-rate undergraduate degree programs in the sciences, humanities, arts and human sciences, as well as undergraduate and master’s level opportunities in business and teacher education.

The College’s purpose is to make an exceptional private liberal-arts education accessible to talented students from a wide range of social and economic backgrounds. To that end, the College unites a challenging academic program with opportunities for practical work experience. It prepares students for life by emphasizing learning experiences that are active and deep, inside and outside of the classroom. Berry’s expansive and eye-catching campus serves as a living laboratory for these inspiring learning experiences. With a student-faculty ratio of 12:1 and an endowment in excess of $900 million, the College is positioned for a strong and vibrant future.

Students at Berry are encouraged to work on campus as part of their learning experience. More than 1,800 students (nearly 90%) participate every semester – making it the largest college work experience program of its kind in the nation. The premise of this program is that students learn responsibility by being given real responsibility. Students work in significant, paid positions in every office and area of campus.

Berry College seeks an enterprising academic leader who will understand the importance of Berry’s vision and purpose. The Provost reports to the President, serves on the President’s Cabinet, leads the Deans Council, is responsible for the faculty and the curriculum, and is the chief academic officer.
