Babson College — Dean, Babson Executive and Enterprise Education

The Dean reports to the Provost of the College and is a member of the Academic Leadership Team. They partner with the Dean of the Undergraduate School, the Dean of Faculty, the Murata Dean of the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, Three Center Directors, and the leaders of academic services, student affairs, enrollment management, and international and multicultural education.

The Dean is responsible for defining the vision, developing the strategy, and overseeing the implementation of executive education programs. The Dean provides academic leadership for executive education and coordinates efforts with clients, faculty and key stakeholders. The Dean sets the strategic direction and defines, builds and leverages strategic partnerships with corporate entities, other academic units at Babson College, associations, learning organizations outside the College, and others. Additionally, the Dean exercises administrative control over executive education and enterprise programs. The Dean partners with the College’s Chief Marketing Officer to ensure that the external marketing of BEEE is in alignment with the College’s overall marketing brand specifications and goals. Finally, the Dean is also responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of the Babson Executive Conference Center, operated by FLIK, and for negotiating and managing contractual arrangements with the Center’s management company.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement the BEEE strategic plan, including the areas of entrepreneurship and global management;
  • Research to gain insights and intelligence regarding the competitive executive education environment and ensure positive positioning of BEEE and the goals of penetration into new market segments;
  • Remain abreast of clients’ needs and review and revise as necessary program offerings, delivery methodology and content to ensure maximum engagement with BEEE programs;
  • Oversee the development and application of performance measures to assess client educational outcomes from BEEE programs;
  • Partner with other College leaders to ensure the BEEE strategy aligns with the overall College goals;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key professional organizations and corporate leaders and promote BEEE’s innovative offerings and capabilities to prospective clients;
  • Direct the financial planning, control and reporting of BEEE, manage Babson Executive and Enterprise Education revenue generation, manage the capital expenditures required for the maintenance of the Babson Executive Conference Center, and BEEE’s financial contribution to the College;
  • Collaborate with the Provost to design and implement a strategy that ensures the attraction, development and retention of an outstanding and diverse faculty base and administrative staff;
  • Build and maintain exceptional relationships with clients;
  • Work with the Babson Executive Education Faculty Advisory Group to keep the Babson faculty informed and advised of BEE activities;
  • Lead recruitment of Babson Executive and Enterprise Education faculty internally and externally to help deliver programs in Babson Executive and Enterprise Education;
  • Serve on the President’s Cabinet and the Academic Leadership Team to contribute to the general strategic planning and tactical implementation for Babson College. Work collaboratively with other members of the President’s Cabinet to achieve the College’s goals within a framework of shared governance; and
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.
