The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of Psychology invites applications for a Professor and Department Chair (R99308) position to begin July 1, 2017. UALR offers a competitive salary and attractive fringe benefits package.

The Psychology department seeks a visionary leader to collaborate with faculty to continue to position the department well for trends in the discipline and changes in the higher education landscape. Home to eight full-time faculty, the department hosts one of the largest majors on campus and a new master’s program in Applied Psychology with a concentration in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.  The department seeks an established scholar with the commitment and ability to develop the graduate program while strengthening the undergraduate program.  An ideal candidate will be able to provide evidence of a positive leadership style and an ability to balance administrative duties and scholarly pursuits.  The area of research and teaching specialization is open.  Ability to develop relationships with businesses and community organizations to foster internship and career placement opportunities is a plus.  Located in the newly formed College of Social Sciences and Communication, the Psychology department is situated in an exciting interdisciplinary and community-engaged scholarly environment.  The location of the university in the capitol city and center of government, commerce, health care, and non-profit affairs creates limitless possibilities for experiential learning and scholarly partnerships. Minimum Qualifications:  Doctoral degree in Psychology.  Demonstrated, effective academic leadership and/or higher education administrative experience and an established record of teaching and scholarship commensurate with tenure at the rank of Professor at UALR.  Experience and/or desire to engage in professional service activities within the community and a proven record of building positive student, colleague, and community relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:  An established record of teaching and/or scholarship related to departmental curricular areas.
