The University of Alabama seeks an Endowed Research Chair in Human Environmental Sciences with a start date of January 1, 2017 (negotiable). This appointment will be held jointly in the College of Human Environmental Sciences and one of its five departments. The Endowed Research Chair is designed to reinforce the existing research program and facilitate the establishment of a robust nationally recognized multidisciplinary research program. The ideal candidate for this position currently serves at the Associate or Full Professor level and has established a program of scholarly research with a strong external funding base. Evidence of ability to establish and promote the growth of a collegial academic and professional environment for research within the College is considered critical. Applicants are expected to demonstrate an interest in engaging, mentoring, and advocating for junior faculty. Full and department specific advertisements are available upon request.
