The New Dean of the School of Engineering at Morgan State University

Michael G. Spencer was named dean of the Clarence M. Mitchell Jr. School of Engineering at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. He is only the second dean in the school’s history. Dr. Spencer replaces Eugene M. Deloatch, who is retiring after 32 years as dean.

Dr. Spencer has been serving as a professor in the department of electrical and computer engineering at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. His research has focused on compound semiconductors, power conversion, microwave devices, and solar cell technology.

Dr. Spencer holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree in electrical engineering, all from Cornell University.
